How it all began
In 2015 we started this platform about Cape Verde. However, but our love for the Cape Verdean islands started much earlier. Long before there were frequent international flights to the archipelago, we were captivated by the charm of this unique country. At home, Willem – the founder of the platform – would listen to the music his mother played loudly in the living room. It was the music of the queen of morna, Cesária Évora, the world-famous singer from Cape Verde. The love for this music was soon shared, and a first tour of the Cape Verdean islands was made. Here, everything truly came together. We enjoyed the warm hospitality, authentic villages, the diversity between the islands, and, above all, an unforgettable journey. Tourists were hardly present on the Cape Verdean islands at that time. After several trips to Cape Verde, we decided to share our experiences and knowledge through this platform. Here, you will find everything there is to see, do, and taste in Cape Verde, as well as fascinating background information about the rich history of the islands, for example. In short, a source of useful and up-to-date information for anyone planning to travel to Cape Verde. And our journey of discovery is still ongoing.
